  It is in charge of the following:

• Drawing up hydraulic studies
• Drawing up studies on the control of surface waters
• Drawing up studies on the mobilization of waters
• Drawing up studies on hydraulic works for the mobilization of surface waters ( dams, water transfer structures, hill dams).
• Drawing up studies on hydraulic structures
• Building dams, hill dams and hydraulic structures
• Controlling and maintaining dams
• Building structures for the protection of rural and agriculture areas against river floods.
