Incorporation and legal status
It is a non administrative public institution set up in 1975 coming under the authority of the Ministry of Public Health.
The implementation of the governmental policy in the hydrotherapy sector and the sector of packaged waters.
Within this framework, the Office is in charge of:• Suggesting development programs in the hydrotherapy sector and the packaged waters sector.
• Studying , in conformity with the regulation in force, projects relating to the setting up of institutions in these sectors as well as the expansion or the restructuring of existing units.
• Suggesting and implementing in cooperation with concerned ministries :
- a control policy for hydrotherapy activities with the assistance of a medical committee.
- a control policy for the use of packaged waters during all stages with the assistance of the permanent committee of packaged waters.
• Securing, in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health and authorized bodies, the control of hydrotherapy institutions and plants of packaged waters.
• Suggesting, to concerned authorities, the price of offered services in hydrotherapy stations as well as the price of packaged waters at all stages.
• Promoting vocational training in the hydrotherapy sector and the sector of packaged waters.
• Carrying out a coordinated action aiming at the promotion of the hydrotherapy sector and the packaged waters sector.
• Carrying out or subcontracting technical, financial and economic studies.
• Suggesting the necessary measures for a harmonious development of the hydrotherapy sector and the sector of packaged waters.
