Agronomy research institutes in the water sector coming under the authority of the Ministry of Agriculture are :

• The National Institute of Agronomy Researches ( INRAT) which activities cover all agronomy fields and particularly cereals, fodder, arboriculture, market gardening, plant protection, livestock farming….
• The National Institute of Research projects on Rural Engineering, Water and Forests (INRGREF) covers research projects on rural engineering, water and forests, research topics concern more particularly the use of water for irrigation purposes, the issue of soil salinity, used waters, agricultural equipment, soil and water conservation, reforestation, production, conservation, use and development of forests and trails.
